It’s interesting how context dependent memorization is. Like I have something in my SR system. But the same thing comes IRL context and it’s pretty hard to recall it then. Even if the context is slightly different.
Some potential Solution: just treat this moment as another repetition and put energy in recall
Instead of core meaning my mind is probably visualizing the following
Specific phrasing of the definition. That is this spefiic sequence of words will bring this answer.
Eg.: I am memorizing the card: Front of the card: “English word for declares innocent or frees from blame eg. they should ___ these men from this crime”. Back of the card: “exonerates”
And in the above example it’s almost like I am memorizing sequence of words that in between “they should” and “these men from this crime” will be exonerate
Visual context, shapes. Similar to above like I see shapes of the example and I can just give the answer. But this extends to also: the software I am using. My SR system is written in Notion. Notion has white background and black letters and it’s text. In these context it will be easier for me to recall it then say when I am thinking on my bike, or when I hear the word exonerate while watching a movie.
